Wells Fargo Championship 2013 Top Picks

The stars are starting to resurface post Masters. Let’s see how they perform in a Tiger and Scott-less field. Here are’s picks as to who will take home the USD1.1 Million+ winning share:

Rory McIlroy
Yup… I’m gonna be that guy and predict that this will be Rory’s first win of the season. He’s had a solid two weeks off and is officially out of the limelight… well… relatively less hassled. In that time, I think he’ll have worked out the kinks of his swing and the clutter in his head and will take home the cheddar!

Webb Simpson
In 11 starts this season, Simpson has only missed the cut three times, finishing in the top-26 all the rest. With three top-10 finishes, including coming in second at the RBC Heritage two weeks back, Simpson has the chops to notch his first win since last year’s US Open. Plus his wife is super hot!

Bill Haas
11 starts, only one missed cut. Out of 8 top-25 finishes, Haas finished within the top-10 5 of those times. Haas is a sleeper. He has won at least one PGA tournament in each of the last three years. Think this might be his 2013 win.

Bubba Watson
Round 2
Watson’s game is slowly coming back. He’s had a great year with six top-20 finishes and only one missed cut in eight starts though no wins following his 2012 Masters victory. His performance on the course has been largely over shadowed by his antic off the course (i.e. Duck Dynasty Pro-Am, Bubba-Craft, Playing With Shaq, etc.). However, a solid 65 in the third round of last weeks Zurich Classic might be a preview of Watson’s upcoming domination at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Wild Card: Vijay Singh
Once again… when in doubt… pick the dude using performance enhancing drugs!

    • Nothing malignant about my comment. Just because Vijay was cleared by the PGA doesn’t discredit the fact that he openly admitted to using deer antler spray, a product that contains performance enhancing drug, IGF-1. Purely opinion, but I personally believe that this is just the tip of the iceberg when it come to golf and drugs.
