The Memorial Tournament 2013 Top Picks

In two days, the world’s best golfers will reconvene for the Memorial Tournament at Jack Nicklaus’ Muirfield Village Golf Club.

It’s a given that Tiger Woods, who already has four wins this year in seven starts, will once again dominate his way to USD1.6 Million+. At 7/2 odds, the below is a hypothetical “what if someone goes Tanya Harding on Woods” top picks list:

Justin Rose

Zurich Classic of New Orleans - Round Two

Ugh… I already hate myself for writing his name first. Rose to me is the equivalent of any Adam Sandler movie post Happy Gilmore. I go to the theaters and can’t decide what movie to watch. I ultimately choose Jack and Jill or one of his other sh*tty movies because you think Sandler might just hit one outta the park again, only to be let down and wishing you went with any and I mean ANY of the other movies playing. I’m picking Rose knowing full well that I’ll probably be let down because let’s face it… he can’t putt and is on the down after just missing his first cut of the year three weeks back at The Players Championship. But maybe… just maybe… he pulls it all together and dominate like a man with his beautiful swing should… especially since he won at Muirfield three years back. What’s the saying, “Hope for the best, expect the worst.”

Matt Kuchar

Kuchar, with his Bettinardi Forearm putter, currently ranks 13th in putting per hole (1.726) and has yet to miss a cut in 13 starts this year. With one 2013 win under his belt already (WGC-Match Play) and a second place finish at the Crowne Plaza last week, Kuchar is due for a good showing this week. Should he do well, I humbly request that everyone not make the low groaning “KUUUCCCHHHH” sound every time he tees off… it’s almost as annoying as the “It’s In The Hole” shout when players tee off on a par-5.

Luke Donald

RBC Heritage - Round Three

The former world number 1 has been very “meh” this year. I think Memorial may be his tournament though. In his past starts this year, Donald went T-43, T-4, T-25, T-3, T-19. If his record is any indication, Donald will finish in the top 2. He’s due for a win this year!
