Tiger Woods Wins WGC-Bridgestone Invitational

After the first day, there was little doubt that Tiger Woods would win the WGC- Bridgestone Invitational. And if there were doubters, a second round 61 shut everyone up and reconfirmed why Woods is the number one golfer in the world!

With a seven stroke lead going into the final day, Woods parred 16 holes to finish even for the day for his 79th PGA Tour victory.

The victory (8th at Firestone CC) also allowed Woods to again match Sam Snead’s and his own PGA Tour record for wins in an event. Snead won the Greater Greensboro Open eight times. Earlier this year, Woods won at Bay Hill for the eighth time.

Hard to remember the last time Tiger dominated like this. All eyes will be on him this week as he enters the PGA Championship in search of his 15th Major Championship.
